A little about me
I research and design meaningful experiences for people, products & spaces.
I'm a T-shaped designer and I love collaborating with people of diverse disciplines to understand human factors, needs, context, culture, business strategy & technology.
I’m currently working as an Experience Designer at John Hancock Insurance, Boston MA.
“Design matters because it gives form to our past and dimension to our future...
Design matters because of the why, not the what; the sentiment, not the acquisition.
Design matters because people matter...”
My Story
Born and brought up in multiple cities across India, I grew up with a love for traveling, exploring new places and discovering diverse people, cultures and artefacts that make these places.
My journey in design began with five years of architecture school, where I nurtured my passion to create spaces and experiences that make an impact on people's lives by challenging the status quo through design experimentation. I worked as an architect in Auroville, Mumbai and Ladakh where I collaborated with clients, technical consultants and local artisans to design and construct hospitality projects rooted in contextual identity and practical functionality.
But I was curious to learn more. Be more.
I wanted to shape myself as a designer who can speak the language of business strategy and technology so that I could collaborate with people of diverse professions to innovate and tell stories through unique product-service experiences.
I graduated from the Master of Integrated Innovation for Products and Services Graduate Program at Carnegie Mellon University in 2020. During my time in Carnegie Mellon, I learnt about the importance of human-centred design in technology and business strategy. At present, I’m well-versed in taking projects from the initial discovery phase to the development/testing phase by integrating diverse perspectives through a collaborative and iterative process to innovate and craft end-to-end product experiences.
My main interests are studying how interactions between the digital and physical can facilitate deep decision-making choices, specifically in understanding broader and less visible concepts such as inclusivity and accessibility.
In my free time, I like to experiment with DIY crafts, paint and sketch, do cat-sitting and travel.
